In the new edition of its consumer's fishing guide the WWF also recommended that shops and restaurants avoid Wild Baltic Salmon.
The guide has also named four fish species that were not previously included on their list of fish to avoid, such as Trout and Bleak. Recommendations for several other species have also been specified.
WWF Finland's marine program chief Sampsa Vilhunen said that fishing quotas are currently too large in relation to actual fish stock sustainability.
It is better to consume fish that you caught yourself rather than eating imported fish, Vilhunen added.
The WWF are aiming for Finland to become the first country in the world where only sustainably-caught fish will be available for sale by the end of 2015.
