The catamaran will accommodate up to 400 passengers and will make the journey on Wednesdays during the summer period as of mid-May.
The service is the first direct route between Finland and Saarenmaa, Estonia's largest island and a well-known resort area.
Preliminary timetables suggest that the catamaran would depart from Helsinki at 2 pm and arrive at Kuivastu at 6 pm. Following a stopover of one hour, it would embark on the return trip at 7 pm and arrive in the Finnish capital at 11 pm.
A one-way ticket from Helsinki to Kuivastu would run between 40 and 50 euros, according to Linda Line manager Enn Rohula.
