The talks concerned the Arabia factory’s entire personnel of 230 people. As the result of the negotiations, 73 employees will face departure, 68 of whom will be made redundant, while the work of others ends as a consequence of other arrangements.

Fiskars said the talks were aimed at increasing efficiency and making product development more flexible.

The company says that, as part of the reorganisation in ceramics, production could be shifted to contract manufacturers. Already now a small proportion of the trademark Arabia dishes are made in Thailand and Indonesia.
