Team Finland scraped a second narrow 1-0 ice hockey victory in the world ice hockey championships Sunday afternoon, this time over Slovakia.

Janne Pesonen put the hosts in the lead with the game’s lone goal in the first period, making good on a superb corner pass from young star Mikael Granlund.

Finnish goalie Petri Vehanen blocked 26 attempts at goal by the Slovaks to play a key part in the slim Finnish victory.

Finland will be looking to maintain their winning streak when they meet Switzerland on Tuesday, while Slovakia will have to pull themselves together to face the USA Monday evening.
