OP-Pohjola set to axe 700 jobs

The financial services group plans to axe about 700 jobs across the entire organisation. Some 310 workers from the banking division could lose their jobs.

The Finnish financial services company OP-Pohjola has begun retrenchment talks with a view to slashing 700 jobs, including 310 positions in its banking division.

The company is also considering plans to outsource about 200 positions.

The retrenchments are part of a restructuring and cost cutting programme aimed at saving some 50 million euros by 2015.
