The water poses no threat to nearby Ilmajoki but Vehviläinen notes some homes may be stranded by the flood waters. However, he reassures that no homes are likely to be flooded. Fields and farming machines could, though, be at the mercy of flood waters.
In Kauhajoki, the rise in water levels poses a threat to about a dozen homes.
Roads in several locations are flooded, for instance, in Kristiinankaupunki, Kurikka, Laihia and Kauhajoki.

Western and south west parts of Finland have received heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours. Some areas have received a month’s worth of rain in the space of a day.
Some 45 millimetres of rain has fallen in the municipality of Parainen in south west Finland on Friday.
Floods have already been reported in parts of south western Finland. The area was deluged by around 50 millimetres of rain on Thursday and Friday. Some estimates put the amount of rainfall at 80 millimetres, according to Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in south west Finland.
Officials say rivers and lakes could rise to at least normal spring flood levels. Low lying buildings in the municipality of Eura have already been flooded.
Floods earlier this week have also damaged crops in western Finland and northern Ostrabothnia.
