Finland-Georgia 1-1 in World Cup Qualifier

The Finnish national football team played Georgia to a 1-1 tie in a 2014 world cup qualifier at Helsinki's Olympic stadium Friday evening.

"Of course we are disappointed because we were going after three points. We knew it would be a hard match. We didn't manage to get on top of Georgia, we were ineffective at least for the first half. Looks like we only managed to get off one shot during the first half," Kasper Hämäläinen, the scorer for the Finnish side told Yle.

Kuram Gashia put the visitors ahead in the 57th minute, just two minutes before Finland's Alexei Eremenko was shown a red card and was sent off after his second booking for handball.

Hämäläinen evened the score 1-1 in the 62nd minute.

Finland's next World Cup qualifier is against Spain in March.
