Finland’s only 2-Michelin-starred eatery to close

One of Finland’s best restaurants, Chez Dominique, is to close. Owner Hans Välimäki says the decision came because he tired of the restaurant business.

The restaurant is to close its doors for the last time in the autumn. Välimäki says it will take a pause of an unspecified length as he recharges his batteries.

Välimäki said that fifteen years running Chez Dominique was enough, but did not completely rule out a return at some point in the future.

The restaurant received two Michelin stars ten years ago. There are five Michelin-starred restaurants in Finland, all of them located in Helsinki.
