”Brink” shortbread cookies withdrawn from the market

The Food Safety Authority has ordered the recall of batches of biscuits produced by Finnsweet after an error on the packaging fails to warn allergy sufferers that the product is unsuitable.

The recalled products have a best-before date of 13.7.2014. The piped shortbread biscuits are produced by the company Finnsweet under the “Brink” brand, and are labelled as being suitable for gluten-sensitive people.

However, the product contains normal wheat flour which contains gluten and therefore could be dangerous for allergy sufferers.

The distributor began recalling the biscuits on Wednesday this week.
