Helsinki restaurants Ask and Chef & Sommelier have been awarded Michelin stars. Finland now claims six one-star Michelin restaurants, all of which are located in the capital city.

The Helsinki restaurants of Ask and Chef & Sommelier have been awarded with coveted Michelin stars, a worldwide indicator of fine cuisine. Finland now sports six Michelin-star eating establishments, the other four being the Demo, Luomo, Olo and Postres restaurants. All of the restaurants that have received the award are located in Helsinki.

Michelin reviewers (or "inspectors") are completely anonymous; they do not identify themselves, and their meals and expenses are paid for by the French company founded by the Michelin brothers, never by a restaurant being reviewed. Restaurants that have been awarded Michelin stars are listed in the Michelin Guide, a guide to the world’s finest dining.

Finland no longer boasts any two-star restaurants, as the only one to earn a double-star rating, Chez Dominique, closed last October.
