Helsinki’s Easter show was watched by a record audience on Friday, with 20,000 people gathering to see the open air play about the last hours of Jesus Christ.
The event started in Kaisaniemi park and wended its way through the city to Senate Square and the steps of the city’s Lutheran cathedral. The entire play lasted around one and a half hours and was directed by Mikko Lammi. After four years in charge of the Easter treat, he will hand over the reins next year to Ville Saukkonen.
Last year the show drew 17,000 people. In 2012 it was watched by 25,000, but that play took place over two days.
