The popular melodic heavy metal group hails from Kitee, also in Finland’s east. According to the band, the move will enable closer contact with the band’s front man Tuomas Holopainen.

Netherlands-born Jansen will add a touch more Finnish kudos to her persona upon making the move to the North Karelian town of Joensuu, where the latest addition to the population registry will doubtless be well received by fans.

Tuomas Holopainen confirmed the information to Yle’s North Karelia branch via text message, adding that Jansen will take up residence in a couple of weeks’ time.

Floor Jansen is a 33-year-old singer-songwriter who officially joined Nightwish in 2013 after the departure of Anette Olzon. Preceding Olzen as soloist was Finnish singer Tarja Turunen.
