The pre-Christmas edition of the All Points North podcast had a festive feel, welcoming back Denise Wall for a one-off guest presenting slot.

Joel Willans from the Very Finnish Problems franchise told us what are his problems with Finnish Christmas, and his answer might not be a popular one with lovers of Finnish Christmas food: he wants to ban Finnish Christmas casseroles, or boxes.

Electricity prices have been in the news this week, so we looked at the various support packages and new contract types on offer for households struggling to pay their bills.

We also asked Juha Beurling-Pomoell from the Consumers' Union of Finland for some tips on how to conserve energy. He said people should check windows are sealed properly, lower the temperature of their heating systems, drive a little slower and try to time their use of appliances and electricity so they miss the peak periods.

"Basically, we try to tell people to to use a bit less energy, especially in the morning and in the early evenings," said Beurling-Pomoell.
