Worker dies at Turku shipyard

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

A worker died at the Meyer Turku shipyard in the southwest of Finland on Tuesday afternoon, the company said in a statement.

The cause of death is being investigated by the Southwest Finland Police Department.

In a statement, the company expressed its condolences to the worker's bereaved family.

Meyer Turku's Communications Manager Anna Hakala said that the company will not be providing any further information at this stage.

"We will give the professionals time and space to work out what has happened. We will provide more information when the investigation is complete," Hakala said.
