Driving in Helsinki's Malmi district last weekend, Mohamad Sorki happened to notice a garment bag along the side of the road and decided to pick it up.
He brought it to Espoo, showing it to his girlfriend, Kirsi Gupta, and her kids.
Her eight-year-old son, Leo, immediately knew what Sorki had picked up.
"It's the Cha Cha Cha costume!" Leo exclaimed, referring to the bolero-type jacket which rap artist Käärijä wore as he won Finland’s Contest for New Music UMK last month.
The victory means the performer will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool in May.
But he had lost the bright green bolero, and the family realised Käärijä would still need it and reached out to him via Instagram.
The artist was in Kuopio for a gig, but said he would come down to pick up the costume on Sunday.
He had to delay his arrival until the following day, but that gave Leo and his family an opportunity to spend some quality time with the famous bolero jacket.
They took turns trying on the bright green garment, singing and dancing and posing for photographs.
The rap artist arrived on Monday, bringing along flowers for Leo's mother and gifts for the others.
It turned out that the bolero jacket's garment bag had fallen from an open car boot as the artist and his entourage were driving to Kuopio for the show.
"A thousand thanks! You really saved my day," Käärijä said.
