The Social Democrats, Left Alliance and Greens filed a no-confidence motion in the government on Friday over Finland's strained labour market situation.
They said the government's actions have resulted in labour market chaos.
This week Finland has seen a series of trade union actions protesting the government's planned labour market policies and cuts to social welfare.
The three parties said Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's (NCP) government has not genuinely engaged with labour market organisations.
"Orpo's right-wing government has, in a short time, departed from a culture of negotiation and cooperation," said SDP chair Antti Lindtman.
Despite the recent labour unrest, the government said it still intends to push through with the reforms it says are necessary. These include plans to change labour market laws and cut social benefits.
The two other opposition parties in parliament — the Centre Party and Movement Now — did not join the motion calling for a confidence vote.
