Finland's next president, Alexander Stubb, met Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky in conjunction with the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Saturday.

Zelensky thanked Finland for its support to Ukraine and for the country's warm attitude towards Ukraine and its people.

He also said he hoped Finland would continue to support Kyiv's Nato and EU membership bids.

This month Finland sent its 22nd military aid package to Ukraine. The shipment brings the total value of defence aid packages Finland has sent to Ukraine to roughly 1.8 billion euros.

Stubb, who will be inaugurated on 1 March, won the election a week ago on 11 February.
