Suzanne Innes-Stubb, the spouse of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, is switching jobs later this year, according to a press release from the president's office.

Innes-Stubb will resign from her global compliance VP post at Kone in June, to take on a part-time post as Executive in Residence for business law at Aalto University at the beginning of autumn.

Innes-Stubb's three-year contract at the university is scheduled to begin on 1 September.

"I have enjoyed working at Kone and I am grateful for the opportunities my employer offered me to change my job description after my spouse was elected President of the Republic of Finland. However, after careful consideration, I believe that my new role will give me a better opportunity to serve Finland as the President’s spouse. At the same time, I can continue to pursue a career in law," Innes-Stubb stated in the press release.

"It's great to be at a stage in my career where I can share my knowledge with future professionals. I think that I will also be able to develop myself professionally in the academic world," she continued.

Alexander Stubb was sworn into office on March 1.
