Finnish environmental group Elokapina on Saturday ended its demonstration by Helsinki's Market Square that began on Friday.

The group, which is the Finnish branch of Extinction Rebellion, said it would stage new events in the capital next Tuesday, 11 June as well as on the 25th, 28th and 30th of this month.

A line of strange creatures, the Red Brigade, also appeared as part of the demonstration earlier on Saturday. The white-faced protesters bearing crimson cloaks and headdresses made their way to the Three Smiths Statue in downtown Helsinki.

Elokapina has staged demonstrations disrupting traffic in Finnish cities in recent years, and in some cases, their activities have landed participants in legal trouble.

However, the environmental activist group has had several victories in court recently, including in April, when Helsinki District Court dismissed a range of charges some of its members faced, such as fundraising crimes.
