The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southwestern areas of Finland on Monday and into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The storm is expected to hit the Åland Islands as well as the regions of Southwest Finland and Satakunta on Monday evening, according to the FMI's warning, before moving on to Pirkanmaa and Kanta-Häme around midnight.
"Local and sporadic wind damage. Mostly individual fallen trees. Brief and local disruptions in electricity supply," FMI's warning said.
The institute also issued a warning about strong winds along the south coast on Monday evening, with gusts reaching up to 25 metres per second.
According to Yle meteorologist Matti Huutonen, the weather will be unsettled throughout much of the country this week, with cloudy conditions and scattered rain showers affecting southern and central areas on Tuesday.
Temperatures during the day on Tuesday will range from 20 degrees Celsius in the south to 15 degrees in Finnish Lapland.
