The Ministry of Finance, led by Minister Riikka Purra (Finns Party), will meet on Wednesday to draft Finland's state budget for 2025.
The ministry is expected to release its budget proposal on Friday, and the government is scheduled to discuss it during a budget session in the first week of September.
State expenditure for next year is estimated to hit 87.6 billion euros, leading to a budget deficit of some 10.7 billion euros.
Earlier this year, the government began budget talks aimed at identifying new spending cuts and tax increases to address gaps in the 2025 state budget.
Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) had told reporters that the "extremely difficult" discussions sought to find an additional three billion euros in savings on top of the existing six billion euros in austerity measures.
The lead-up to the talks was marked by growing tensions within the coalition, with Minister Purra proposing pension cuts while the NCP opposed measures affecting older people.
