Wind power production pushes spot prices negative on Monday

The spot electricity price will fall into negative territory several times on Monday, peaking at zero cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) between 9 and 10am and 6 and 7pm, according to Nord Pool.

The lowest price is on Monday at 4am when the price will drop to -0.30 cents per kWh, due to high wind power production.

According to a forecast by grid operator Fingrid, wind power production will rise to more than 5,000 mWh on Sunday evening.

Wind warnings are in effect for both land and sea areas along Finland's west coast on Monday.
