More than half of respondents in a Helsingin Sanomat survey took a negative view of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's (NCP) performance in office.
The findings indicate that a significant portion of the Finnish public believes Orpo has handled his duties as prime minister "rather poorly" or "very poorly."
In contrast, only one in four respondents expressed a positive assessment, rating his performance as "good" or "fairly good."
The poll underscores growing public scrutiny of Orpo's leadership amid ongoing political and economic challenges. Compared to a similar poll conducted a year ago, the share of respondents who view Orpo's performance negatively has grown by 20 percentage points.
Half of respondents rated the government's performance as poor. Fewer than a third of those surveyed held the opposite view, rating the government's performance positively.
Pollster Verian carried out the survey commissioned by national daily Helsingin Sanomat. More than 1,000 Finns participated in the poll in mid-December.
