Finnair is cancelling around 110 flights on Wednesday due to industrial action by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU).

Wednesday's cancellations are estimated to affect around 11,000 customers, the airline's communications unit told STT.

The aviation union has staged multiple walkouts this spring, prompting Finnair to cancel hundreds of flights, affecting thousands of customers.

In the latest of the union's series of four-hour work stoppages, the airline cancelled 50 flights on Monday, which affected approximately 3,600 customers.

Last week, the IAU rejected the mediator's settlement proposal in a labour dispute over air traffic services. The industrial dispute between the union and the aviation employer organisation Palta has dragged on since late January without resolution.

According to the union, the main dispute between the parties concerns salary levels.
