Finnish flag carrier Finnair is cancelling around 100 flights on Wednesday, due to a planned four hour strike by airport workers' ground staff called by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU).
Wednesday's cancellations are expected to affect the travel plans of around 7,000 passengers. The airline said it would directly contact them about the matter.
Early on Monday evening, the National Conciliator's office announced that the day's negotiations between the IAU and Palta had not reached a successful conclusion.
This development means that the union's planned industrial action on Wednesday is still on track to take place.
Negotiations between the parties are expected to resume on Tuesday.
The airlline previously said the strike would affect all ground handling operations essential to its flights.
The IAU has issued several industrial action warnings throughout next month, with walkouts planned on July 4, 7, 16, 18, 21 and 23.
The airline said that it would notify affected passengers about possible cancellations due to the walkouts.
The industrial actions stem from a labour dispute between the IAU and the Service Sector Employers (Palta) which has continued since the end of January. The union has called several walkouts throughout the spring, prompting Finnair to cancel hundreds of flights.
Over the weekend, Yle reported that the ongoing situation has affected morale among union members, with some supporting the union's goals and others growing weary of them.
Edited to add that Monday's negotiations ended unsuccessfully.
