Police in Vantaa are investigating the theft of a pair of valuable bronze statues from a park decorated with sculptures in the city's Sotunki district.

Like the park's other sculptures, the ones that disappeared were created by artist Laila Pullinen (1933–2015). Their combined estimated value is around 140,000 euros, according to police.

They were first noticed to be missing at around 5am on Wednesday.

"The two stolen works are part of the culturally and historically significant collection of the sculptor Laila Pullinen's sculpture park and home museum," the case's lead investigator, Rauno Jämsä, said in a press release.

Police have made an appeal to members of the public for help in tracking down the two sculptures.

Located in the courtyard of the Nissbacka Manor, the sculpture park and home museum feature Pullinen's works from the 1950s to the 2010s.
