One of Finland's largest private providers of social and healthcare services, Pihlajalinna, has announced the beginning of extensive restructuring negotiations with staff representatives.

In a press release, the company said that the talks will affect the entire workforce of 6,500 employees and could lead to about 90 people losing their jobs.

The redundancies are likely to mostly affect administrative staff, the company said, and would not include doctors and nurses who work exclusively in clinical healthcare roles.

In addition to the possible redundancies, a further 120 positions could be subject to significant changes as a result of the changes, the statement added.

The talks between the company and unions are expected to last until the end of October.

Pihlajalinna was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Tampere. It offers a wide range of social and healthcare services, including occupational healthcare as well as private clinic and hospital services.
