Detained Finnish activists in Israel have been freed

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and around 70 other participants in the Global Sumud Flotilla have also been able to depart to their home countries.

All of the Finnish activists who were detained by Israeli authorities as they took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla last week have been released and have since left the country, according to Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The ministry's Director General of Consular Services, Jussi Tanner, announced the development on social media site X on Monday afternoon.

Last Thursday, it was reported that five Finnish citizens were among the detained activists.

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and around 70 other participants in the flotilla who were detained have also been able to depart to their home countries.
