Finland's parliament recently approved a bill that will further tighten the rules around obtaining Finnish citizenship.

The latest changes relate to an applicant's financial self-sufficiency as well as their "integrity" — meaning the committing of offences or crimes — and they make up the second phase of the government's three-step strategy aimed at making it more difficult to get a Finnish passport.

The first phase focused on the amount of time an applicant should live in Finland before applying for citizenship, while the third will see the introduction of a citizenship test.

The reform has however led to much confusion among Finland's immigrant population about if and how it relates to their citizenship applications.

All Points North therefore wants to collate the questions our listeners have and find the answers.

We also want to hear from people affected by the law changes. Will the changes prevent you from obtaining citizenship? What do you think about the reform?
