Delivery service Foodora may leave Finland

The company said it wants to focus on markets where it has the opportunity to grow and build a long-term, sustainable position.

Delivery service firm Foodora is considering whether or not to continue its operations in Finland, according to a company press release.

The company revealed the possibility as it announced that it has initiated change negotiations as it considers the matter.

Foodora said one option would be withdrawing from the Finnish market. The company said it wants to focus on markets where it has the opportunity to grow and build a long-term, sustainable position.

"We are carefully assessing whether continuing operations in Finland best supports Foodora's long-term goals in Europe," the release stated.

Foodora's mobile platform-based delivery services will continue during the negotiations, according to the company.

Founded in Munich, Foodora's headquarters moved to Berlin, Germany in 2015 and was subsequently acquired by Delivery Hero. Apart from Finland, the company operates in Sweden, Norway, Austria, Czech Republic, and Hungary.
